El Expreso sacó rápidamente ventajas en el primer cuarto, la misma llegó a siete puntos, pero el visitante en el segundo cuarto mejoró y se acercó un poco para irse al entretiempo con la victoria tombina 23-18.
En el tercer cuarto, el Tomba volvió a estirar la ventaja y llegó a diez puntos la diferencia; pero en el último cuarto, Godoy Cruz sufrió mucho en la efectividad y se le complicó el encuentro que tuvo unos últimos minutos de partido bastantes emotivos.
Al final el Expreso pudo aguantar el resultado y terminó ganando el partido por un ajustado 40-39. Ahora buscará en el segundo encuentro, de visitante, sellar el pase a semifinales.
